THOMAS McCOY “Tommy” RICHARDSON

Thomas McCoy “Tommy” Richardson, 70, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Richardson Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM at the funeral home.

He was born in Marion County on June 9, 1942, a son of the late J. McCoy Richardson and Hazel “Butch” McKenzie Richardson. Tommy was the 3rd generation master plumber in his family, beginning with his grandfather, R. Leneau Richardson, and his father, J. McCoy Richardson, and was owner of Richardson Plumbing Company until his retirement. Tommy was a former Marion City Councilman as well as long time member of Marion City and Rural Fire Departments. He lived on the banks of the Little Pee Dee River at Knife Island, and loved fishing and sharing tales with his friends.

He is survived by his son, Thomas M. Richardson, Jr. of Coleman, FL; daughters, Tammy (Tony) Rogers of Wilson, NC, and Tonya (Rusty) Jeffcoat of North, SC; a brother Jerry (Mary Lou) Richardson of Marion, SC; and grandchildren, Philip Richardson of Columbia, SC; Noah Price Rogers, Isabell Rogers, and Lillian Claire Rogers, all of Wilson, NC, and Elijah Jeffcoat of North, SC.

Memorials may be made to the Marion Baptist Church In-House Benevolence Fund/Marion Baptist Kindergarten, 106 South Main St, Marion, SC 29571.
